Who has been most influential in helping you get to your current level?
There has been so many people who have given me advice over the years. Phil Adams at Quicks is amazing for dropping one liners, it usually starts with, "what are you doing, have you tried doing it this way". They are usually big lightbulb moments for me. My team mates at AC Delco Bowmen are amazing and very supportive, especially when it's not going well.
Who is your most admired archer?
I've been thinking about this for a while and come up with no one individual. Everyone who keeps shooting, rain or shine and does it because they love doing it. Friends and people who I've met, who shoot despite their own personal difficulties whether its mental or physical are an inspiration.
What advice can you give to up and coming new archers?
Enjoy yourself. Yes there will be days you find it a struggle, but always remind yourself why you are doing it, and the reason should always be, because you enjoy it.
Listen to everyone. There are so many different opinions out there for everything, so listen to all of it. Go away and try it, it might work and if it doesn't work for you that's ok; Everyone is different and what work for me might not work for you.
If you're like me and have that competitive nature, I find it very difficult to accept that I'm still learning and not as good as I want to be. Curb your expectations and set yourself some SMART targets, as long as you are honest with yourself and can see the upward trend in your shooting and most importantly enjoy yourself.
